Today, Ranveer Singh’s 83 enters the Rs 100 Crore Club. Yesterday, it managed to bring in Rs. 1.29 crore – which is just shy of the one-crore mark that it made on Friday. As such, a 35% increase from previous days looks really promising but with this being at a low number, we’ll take it with a grain of salt. The film has now brought in 999 crores across all languages – thanks largely to what was received from its dubbed south versions (around 5 crores). If not for these contributions, the century would’ve come much later; maybe even touch and go! But right now because there were no new releases out – namely Jersey or RRR – the movie got an extension that helped contribute towards these additional earnings.
This issue will persist for a few more days and theaters too will continue to show Kabir Khan’s sports drama since there is no movie to replace it with. For at least one month, the status quo stays like this. One has to make do with whatever good they find in the films currently being screened.
