83 has been doing poorly at the box office and recent revenues have been less than one million rupees. It may drop below this number today if revenue does not improve, because only Rs. 1.12 crore was earned yesterday of which many places in different states have stopped showing movies altogether or cut off show times to 12 am instead of 9 pm. The current situation is dismal; no matter how hard I try, there are barely any people who want to watch my film, let alone pay money for it when these factors take hold of everything else.
It is an unfortunate state of affairs when we consider that 83 crores have been amassed thus far, but still it appears the producers are confident in staying at theatre screens for the next 8 weeks before shifting to online streaming. If this pattern continues then patrons will need to wait 6 more weeks before watching Raanveer Singh’s latest release on their smartphones/computers.
