On Monday, 83 fell to number two on the charts bringing in only 2.01 crore rupees – practically nil compared to what it brought in just days before. The decline seems inevitable after this past week, although Sunday performances gave hope that 82 would still hold up enough to keep its presence strong through Friday. It could not though and the overall decline is nearly 60% of what it started off with last Wednesday night at 4.36 crores over three days.
Lower ticket prices on Saturdays may account for some of this drop off; however, there’s no denying that people are voting with their wallets as well when they’re staying away from 82 after having been unable to attend shows due to lack of tickets availability for popular cinemas. So far at 93 crore rupees gross earnings, 82 will need a miraculous showing next weekend if it wants stay afloat in the 100 club past its first week out – let alone make back those more than 200 million invested already!
Flop.
