This year, director Kabir Khan releases his latest film in 83- after which the actor Ranveer Singh is set to quit movies altogether. After going through a banishment of five long years and coming back out with his most ambitious film yet – audiences have certainly appreciated his work. It’s been less than four weeks since the premier release, but it already stands tall among films that have crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark- an impressive accomplishment for Kabir Khan considering this is only one his 4 films to achieve such success so far!
It took Tubelight six days post its opening day to reach 10 crores; Ek tha Tiger opened up with 12 crores; but now comes second fastest contender- also releasing on Eid- who managed to do so in just 17 days!
With 83 movies crossing the Rs. 100 crore-mark threshold, Kabir has surpassed two other directors – Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ali Abbas Zafar – both of whom have 3 hits each. He now stands at second place in India for most successful director with one film ahead of him on the list being Rohit Shetty with nine such movies to his name.
