Section 375 has been very well received among audiences and those who watched it were also pleased. This led to an increase in Sunday collections worth Rs. 3.52 crores which is still less than what the film deserves given its scale, size and content. At present, Section 375 only has fewer shows allocated than new Hindi release Dream Girl or last week’s arrival Chhichhore. Both these films have been highly appreciated so the lack of footfall at Section 375 isn’t surprising at all given that people might’ve enjoyed themselves elsewhere instead (with the other two films).
This was clearly shown from the two-day weekend collections of Rs. 8.04 crores, which are much less than what this film deserves considering its content. At least the 10 crores rupees mark should’ve been reached – but instead we’re stuck below that due to lack of interest. A lot will now depend on if it can manage to stay even remotely stable through weekday showings – considering just how fascinating and important a topic like sexual harassment is nowadays and how timely this movie is too when you think about it!
Even if Akshaye Khanna were to hope for the best, he could only wish for Section 375 to turn out even close to his last release – The Accidental Prime Minister. This past weekend was much lower than that of The Accidental Prime Minister at Rs. 11.90 crores. Hopefully this isn’t all downhill from here on out.
