Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan has not had an impressive increase in its collection figures on Saturday, according to the preliminary estimates, with an earning of around Rs. 6.75 to 7.25 crores, leading to a cumulative sum of Rs. 21.60 crores for the first three days. These numbers are unsatisfactory, particularly for a film that had its launch during a holiday period. However, it does signify a marginal rise of 8 percent from the prior day.
Raksha Bandhan has found itself in a difficult position, in comparison to its rival, and now all its hope lies in the Sunday and Monday figures to help it pass the Rs. 50 crore milestone. Its tepid Saturday performance shows it has been snubbed by multiplex audiences, so its fate now depends on the trend that Sunday and Monday bring, which will determine how it is received by viewers in the mass regions.
Raksha Bandhan is a movie designed to entertain the masses, so a mundane Saturday is to be expected; however, the grand total of its opening two days being lower than expected has left room for improvement. On Sunday and Monday, box office returns should rise; whether or not the film will reach a double–digit turnout on either of those days is still up in the air.
A two-digit Sunday would imply that, if the movie collects around Rs. 40 crore over the extended five day weekend, it has the potential to attain a lifetime total of approximately Rs. 70 crores.
