The Salman Khan starring action-packed drama Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai was one of the few releases for this holiday season in Gujarat and ran on most theatres for about a week before garnering attention from audiences. However, what made it stand out amongst other releases during this time frame is that due to the infestation of Covid-19, which resulted in no other films being able to reach an audience because they all closed down after 2 days when another Covid-19 outbreak occurred; Radhe managed to stay open an entire month. Instead of giving up or running off like every other movie because there were no others left around, it stayed open for much longer than anticipated thanks to how popular it had been throughout the duration that people would still come watch it despite the events unfolding around them.
Since June 27, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai has been screened at three theaters – The Friday Cinema multiplex and the Rupam Cinema in Surat, as well as Amber Cinema in Jamnagar. These three theater managers elected to continue showing the film from Friday, July 2 onward since they found themselves making an average of 10 extra thousand rupees per day for each theatre.
However, after only five days worth of screenings, these earnings plummeted even lower for week five. It was reported by Bollywood Hungama when they reported on the movie’s weekend revenue totals that some showtimes were cancelled due to lack of interest. This trend continued on weekday evenings too with both low ticket sales and sparse attendance during screenings; the only exception being Amber Cinemas who still saw over 50% of their seats filled at its sessions (with some patrons reporting they had seen Radhe-Your Most Wanted Bhai twice).
A trade expert said to Bollywood Hungama, Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai collected around four thousand three hundred sixty-three rupees (INR) on Monday; fifteen hundred ninety-eight rupees (INR) on Tuesday; two thousand twenty-two rupees (INR) on Wednesday and two thousand six hundred sixteen rupees (INR) this Thursday. These are approximate estimates. With the latest figure of roughly one lakh eighty-one thousand three hundred thirty nine rupees (INR), Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai has earned 1,81,389 INR so far. This number is up by seventy six percent than what it earned last week– when it made only twenty three thousand seven hundred thirty five in total for the entire week.
In response to low ratings from audiences, Rupam Cinema has terminated the screenings of Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai effective Friday, July 9. Though they are screening two shows per day instead of three, The Friday Multiplex theater no longer airs Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai while Amber Theater will only air one show per day.
After six weeks with an average ticket price being less than two thousand rupees (Rs), it remains unclear whether or not the film will break even after its run ends this week. For smaller cinemas it’s been difficult because they don’t always receive support and marketing, said an anonymous industry insider who noted how few people come out to see Radhe – Your Most Wanted Bhai in theaters these days.
