With an additional 10.75 crore rupees coming in over the weekend, it seemed as if we were back to experiencing Kantara (Hindi) all over again! With this being the best weekend for the dubbed Kannada film yet, things are looking up for this fourth week. Though just like any other film released, there’s always uncertainty about how it will do during these last few weeks due to how unpredictable films can be during these final stages of filming; however so far things are looking promising and we’re sure that this next week will be even better than the previous one. As of now the movie has made a whopping 62.40 crore rupees which makes it a clear Super Hit at theatres- And while there may still be some uncertainties regarding what will happen until its final few days – based off recent trends anything is possible!
Meanwhile, amidst all of the new releases this past week, PhoneBhoot collected the most. A spoof comedy, it currently stands at 7.85 crores while there was still an opportunity to earn up to 8.5 crores until yesterday’s cricket game against Zimbabwe interfered – breaking free from its newfound constraints after just two days. Now that it has been well received and successfully faced off against competition in these first few weeks – let’s wait and see how much more support does this movie garner when faced with lesser known films during the workday hours? At least 6 more crore rupees are needed for now before we can put this title firmly on pace for 20+ crore rupees total gross revenue worldwide!
Meanwhile, Mili and Double XL have both had tough time getting back up on their feet since they’ve made less progress than Janhvi Kapoor’s film. The daughter of one of Bollywood’s most popular actors was able to make Rs. 1.55 crores in its opening weekend while building momentum each day but started off at very low numbers which isn’t much different from what happened with Double XL which only managed to collect Rs. 0.47 crores during the same period over the past week before failing miserably and having an estimated lifetime total between Rs.1-2 crores – about half that of Janhvi Kapoor’s film.
