JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023
In order to apply for JEE Main 2023, candidates must meet the following condition:
As of now, there is no age criteria required for candidates to apply for the JEE Main exam. The candidates who passed their Class 12 or equivalent in the years 2019 or 2020 are eligible to apply for the exam. Additionally, candidates who are currently in Class 12 and are expected to pass in 2023 are also eligible to apply for the JEE Main exam.
Number of Attempts:
There is no limit on the number of attempts for candidates to appear in JEE Main 2023. Aspiring candidates can attempt the examination as many times as they wish, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria and other requirements for the exam.

Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination
Only candidates who have cleared the Class 12 or equivalent examination in the years 2019, 2020, or 2021, or those who are currently enrolled in the Class 12 or equivalent examination in the year 2021, are eligible to appear for JEE (Main) 2021. However, candidates who have cleared the Class 12 or equivalent examination in the year 2018 or before, or those who will appear for the same in the year 2023 or later, are not eligible to appear for JEE (Main) 2021.
It should be noted that for JEE (Advanced) 2021, which is the entrance exam for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), candidates are allowed only two attempts. JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023 of State
While filling out the application form, candidates will need to provide the state for which they satisfy the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023.
- The code of the state where a candidate completed their 12th standard is the state of JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023. This eligibility criterion is not based on the candidate’s place of residence or native place.
- If a candidate has appeared for the improvement exam from a different state after passing the qualifying exam from a different state, then the state code where the candidate passed the qualifying exam will be considered for determining eligibility.
- Candidates who completed their 12th standard or equivalent from NIOS should select the state of eligibility based on the location of the study center.
