Not more than 25% of the screens in the country are currently operational which means there is barely anything for people to watch at cinemas these days. There’s only 3 movies playing – Pushpa, 83 and Spider-Man: No Way Home. This was not what we wanted, it looked like things were going well during November and December but now we’re back to square one once again.
As a result, the effect has been seen on films like Pushpa too; its Hindi version saw an inevitable decline. The film had been doing fairly well for over three weeks and yet, when Monday came around, collections dropped to just Rs. 1.10 crores – about thirty percent less than what it was earning at Rs.1.95 crores on Friday. Of course, many people have already seen the film so there will be some kind of downward trend eventually-but this seemed rather sudden after such a consistent number of days without much fluctuation.
Despite this, the film has collected Rs. 81.58 crores so far and that is nothing but an astounding number by all means. On a day-to-day basis, it still brings in the most from audiences across India. In fact, if one includes its Telugu and other southern versions then it’s undoubtedly surpassed the total collection of Rs. 200 crores already; which also makes it Allu Arjun’s second movie to reach that milestone after Ala Vaikunthapurramulo as well – both were great successes when they came out earlier this year.
Note: All collections are gathered from production and distribution sources
