A while ago, there were talks about Ajay Devgn’s latest movie Drishyam being released in China. It received a warmer welcome than any other Indian movie previously though when it opened up to poor reviews; people said it could’ve been due to the recent breakout of Covid-19 which caused some sectors of China’s market to shut down for weeks now. On its second week run, however, there has been an increase in revenue from the Chinese box office.
Collecting USD 770,000 [Rs. 5.89 cr.] on its second weekend running, the business of the film has seen an increase of 45% from its opening weekend collections of USD 530,000 [Rs. 4.05 cr]. In fact, the overall business of Drishyam has now propelled the film past other top films like Sultan and even Chhichhore- both of which had collected USD 3.01 million after two weeks worth release dates for each movie respectively – to earn this much-needed progress in just 2 days time. Being said that all signs point towards it being a promising outlook for future earnings in the China market where there are high expectations for more revenue streams with $1 Million dollars earned over two consecutive weeks only; making it one of India’s most successful movies ever released there without a doubt.
