Good News enjoyed an excellent Tuesday as Rs. 5.04 crores came in. The film has hardly fallen from its Monday collections of Rs. 5.40 crores which is certainly a great accomplishment. For a blockbuster like this to keep numbers above the Rs.5 crores mark even on weekdays during the second week is astonishing because few films manage to reach these levels and persevere against all odds. In fact, now it can be said that Wednesday and Thursday would stay at over the Rss 4 crores mark, which means only days will contribute around 18-20 crores*.
Even though there are other worthy contenders coming out soon – Chhapaak and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior – Good News will most likely dominate the box office again since it still remains at an all time high after two weeks* (even though some may not agree with me).
So far, this Karan Johar directed movie starring Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani has grossed Rs. 172.54 crores. It will soon pass the Rs. 180 crores before it enters its second week of release and head towards being a blockbuster hit film which is expected to easily achieve that elusive yet grandiose milestone of joining India’s 200 Crore club when it does so.
