Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior showed early signs of success as it earned Rs. 20.57 crores on Saturday alone and opened in the positive light yesterday with Rs. 15.10 crores collected on its first day. With consistent viewership over the course of these two days, this only sets up for a stronger weekend performance for Ajay Devgn-Om Raut-directed drama film
The good news for the film is that it is doing well in both single and multi-screen cinemas, across large cities as well as smaller centres. And this broad appeal has resulted from its unique take on a historical war drama – offering audience members something they’ve never seen before.
Trending like this may indicate a higher lifetime total for the film and while it is an obvious fact that it would enter Rs. 100 Crores Club in no time, one must question if the feat can happen within its first seven days. To achieve this goal, the movie needs to cross Rs. 60 Crores by Sunday night at latest or else there won’t be enough money coming through to meet its goal of reaching 100 crores quickly enough (and who knows when!).
