Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior has seen remarkable success so far, exhibiting strong collections every single day with no decrease in numbers until Tuesday, where it unexpectedly earned only Rs. 3.22 crores. Monday’s total was impressive, reaching Rs. 4.03 crores, meaning there was a 20% drop in Tuesday’s earnings. Although this is not a cause for alarm, it’s the first time a decline in weekday collections has been noticed for the Om Raut-directed movie.
In spite of this, the collections are enormous at Rs. 232.18 crores and some of the most lucrative films have already been surpassed. Films like Uri – The Surgical Strike and Simmba, both of them being action films, will also soon be outshined and the Ajay Devgn starrer will then find itself at a much higher place on the charts. What the film is looking to leave behind is Kabir Singh (Rs. 278.24 crores) and if that becomes true, Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior would become the second highest grossing film of 2019-20, following War.
Ajay Devgn is geared up for a momentous year ahead as he stars in the forthcoming film, Bhuj – The Pride of India, another uplifting story, and will be followed by Maidaan, where he displays his talent as a sportsman as well as his patriotic spirit. The precedent of success set by Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior has set high expectations on Devgn to recreate that success in these movies.
