One day, Smile ends up bumping into Cherry Sakura – which led to both of them getting jobs there. Soon after meeting each other, they found themselves on the hunt for someone’s precious vinyl record album named ‘Kamakura’, which had somehow gone missing from its rightful owner- Fujiyama san…

    Hakubo (Twilight)

The story of Hakubo centers around an extraordinary girl named Sachi Koyama who falls in love with the world from a young age. Although she has many friends at school and loves playing the violin, her favorite activity is simply walking to the bus stop all by herself and indulging herself in thoughts about how beautiful Japan would be if it weren’t for its damaged nuclear power plants.

    Hakubo (Twilight)

However, on one of her routine walks, Sachi stumbles across Yuusuke Kijinami, who she often sees during her daily commute home from school. After agreeing to take him to the top of a hill where he could paint (which was also the topic for his art club’s future exhibition), they form an unlikely friendship over their shared love for beautiful scenery bathed in daylight; just minutes before night falls. This chance meeting brings together two people who only want to live life fully aware of what could come at any given moment.

    Tsukigakirei

A new school year brings about unfamiliar faces and Kotarou Azumi didn’t know what was in store. While he struggled to make it through his last year of junior high, he met another student who was just as much an introvert like him – Akane Mizuno. At first, they were strangers but after several accidental meetings- fate pulled them together. It all started with a single look – one where you feel butterflies churning inside your stomach; sparks fly out of nowhere and before you knew it, you find yourself caught up in the midst of budding romance.

    Tsukigakirei

Though love may be patient and kind, Kotarou and Akane quickly learned there are many difficulties in life. They found moments of respite when they were together but had to overcome obstacles such as depression and confusion. Everything was hazier than before because of the uncertainty about what either truly felt for one another or even whether these feelings might change after time passed by. Nevertheless, under the light that shines so brightly beneath a full moon, Kotarou managed to summon up enough courage to ask Akane an important question which would forever change their lives.

    Your Name

Mitsuha Miyamizu is a high school student who wishes to live in Tokyo; yet her parents are against this idea and want her to stay in their rural home. Meanwhile, Taki Tachibana lives in downtown Tokyo and works as an urban designer striving towards his dream job.

    Your Name

One day, Mitsuha dreamed of herself as a boy living in the dense metropolis, whereas Taki saw him/herself as a girl living in the remote village of Itomori. As time passed, the two realized that these weren’t just dreams and that they truly switched bodies while they slept! Your Name is a simple story about how Mitsuha and Taki live their lives separately for some time – never really knowing if what was happening were real or not. Eventually, it all came together when they found out what had been going on since day one: They swapped places without realizing it every night! Everything from then on became an adventure; dealing with this strange phenomenon had become like second nature for them both.

    Whisper of the Heart

Shizuku Tsukishima, a 14-year-old girl, enjoys reading and making poems whenever she has free time. She looks at her library card record one night, and finds out that the person regularly checking out all of her books is named Seiji Amasawa. Excitedly looking forward to meeting him someday soon because they both share this same hobby – it dawns on Shizuku that he could potentially be someone really special.

    Whisper of the Heart

Struggling to find direction for life, Shizuku heads out to a local antique store one day where she encounters a soulful cat sculpture named The Baron. She learns that this statue was created by the owner of the store, who also happens to have an interest in cats. Her initial surprise at meeting Seiji turns into an immense desire to spend time with him as they reveal their true feelings about themselves and what they hope for in life.

These experiences sharpen her determination until she finally accepts who she really wants to be. With newfound strength in her convictions, Shizuku becomes determined to forge ahead towards a goal – no matter how uncertain things may seem or how high the stakes may be – encouraged only by those around her and most importantly herself.

    Horimiya

Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura first met one another during the introduction period of their freshmen year. At first glance, they couldn’t seem more different – while Hori is carefree and always well dressed, Miyamura keeps to himself and refuses to conform to the social norms of his peers.

But then they found out that both lacked meaningful relationships with others; for example, it was revealed that despite being popular at school, Hori had few friends because she did not have much free time because of her family’s demands; on the other side of things, even though he lived below everyone else’s radar, people eventually found out about Miyamura when he showed up on campus for the first day wearing studded jewelry all over his body.

    Horimiya

Despite their differences, the two were quickly able to find common ground and spend much time together at Hori’s home. They would often share aspects of themselves with one another that they wouldn’t usually show anyone else – it felt good to finally let someone in so deep.

    Sing a Bit of Harmony

Sing a Bit of Harmony follows the story of Shion, an endearing and captivating transfer student who comes to Keibu High School from overseas. She quickly becomes popular due to her kindly demeanor and breathtaking athletic ability. But after discovering she is actually in the trial stage for being an artificial intelligence, will Shion be able to persevere?

    Sing a Bit of Harmony

Shion was created to give happiness to Satomi, who had spent most of her life alone. Her unique way? She began singing in the middle of class just to catch the attention of Satomi and her childhood friend, Touma – a computer engineering genius. The two grew fond of Shion after learning he was an AI. With friends such as popular Gocchan, ambitious Aya and judo club member Thunder, their lives were changed by Shion’s songs. Eventually everything comes crashing down when it becomes known that Shion is still technically unfinished.

    The Garden of Words

A young man named Takao who lives in Tokyo sets out for the local garden one day at dawn to draw shoe designs, but it starts raining. While there, he sees a woman dressed elaborately with long raven hair sitting on a stone bench nearby. He offered his assistance and she accepted him without hesitation. They met many times after that day, always enjoying each other’s company even though they couldn’t really understand what was going on inside each other’s head or heart fully because of how different they were from each other. However, just as winter came around again – their relationship would come to its end because both had unresolved issues deep within themselves at heart.

    The Garden of Words

    Ajimu: Kaigan Monogatari

Seventeen-year-old Nakaido Hirosuke was just like anyone else. He saw a beautiful girl at the train station and fell in love with her. And even though they were classmates, they didn’t know if they could ever have a future together because of all their struggles – including those created by people who didn’t want them to be happy together. It took time and some help from one another to figure out what they both felt, but eventually they realized it was worth trying for that future no matter how difficult things might get.

    Ajimu: Kaigan Monogatari

Josee, the Tiger and the Fish

Tsuneo Suzukawa is a man who loves to dive, despite being interested in marine biology. To save up enough money for studying abroad, Tsuneo takes many part-time jobs while also trying to find love. This all changes when one fateful night Tsuneo meets a woman in a wheelchair who will change the course of his life forever…

Josee, the Tiger and the Fish

Kumiko, or rather Josee, seems harsh at first glance. However, Tsuneo accepts the offer to be Josee’s caretaker and saves money for his schooling ambitions. Initially irritated with her domineering ways, he soon starts seeing the benefits of saving money when she begins treating him like family. He agrees to continue the job long enough to find out if there was something he could do about it– but then he discovers that all along this girl had been dreaming about living a life without limitations; one where she could see all these wonderful places she never would’ve seen otherwise due to her condition. At this point, Tsuneo reconsiders quitting and instead helps Josee achieve her dreams…learning how much they’re truly alike in the process.

    Your lie in April

In the wake of his mother’s passing, Kousei Arima has been left unresponsive towards everything around him. What was once a promising high school student – now just hollows himself out without recognizing it. His friends Tsubaki Sawabe and Ryouta Watari try to do their best to help but inevitably fail because they cannot relate to what he is going through. But one day, at lunchtime in school, when Kousei witnesses someone playing an instrument for others’ enjoyment – the moment becomes seared into his memory. He learns that this person was none other than Kaori Miyazono; and unknowingly sets off on a journey for redemption.

    Your lie in April

Your Lie In April, also known as Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, is based on a manga series of the same name. A story about how one man recovers from a loss by learning that music is much more than just playing every note perfectly- and that one song can be enough to make all those worries disappear like an early morning mist brought in by the breeze.

    A Silent Voice

As a young child, Shouya Ishida was struggling to find himself. In order to keep up with the other children in his class, he resorted to being violent in hopes of proving himself capable. That is until deaf girl Shouko Nishimiya transferred into his school and bullied her because she couldn’t understand what they were saying. She was identified and only blamed for what happened when she finally told them about the situation. After going through this terrible experience that lasted years, everyone now turns their backs on him – even teachers who used to be sympathetic towards him – because it would no longer benefit them if they stand up for someone who can’t say anything back.

    A Silent Voice

This year, 17-year-old Shouya has been plagued by a haunting feeling ever since he committed those shameful acts all those years ago. Determined to redeem himself for his sins in the past, he left home looking for her once more – to tell her how sorry he was and if she would let him start over again, things would change this time. But when he finally finds her after so many fruitless years searching… will she even want to see him anymore? Will she ever forgive him?

    Weathering With You

Tokyo has been experiencing heavy rain showers the past few days that have taken over every person living there without mercy. As it rained relentlessly, sixteen year old Hodaka Morishima ran away from his home after being beaten up and struggles to survive on his own until he finds a job – only problem is he doesn’t know how to do anything so he can make some quick cash. Hina Amano, an orphan, is also looking for work; this one in order to keep her family afloat because she can’t live off of handouts anymore.

    Weathering With You

Both fates were entwined when Hodaka desperately tried to save Hina from dangerous men. The two decided to run away together as a result; however, Hodaka soon realized that Hina had an unexplainable power: she could summon the sun whenever she prayed for it. With Tokyo’s peculiar weather conditions in mind, he advised her to become a sunshine girl, someone who cleared the sky for those in need when they asked. Things seemed to be looking up for them at first; however, power always came at a high price.

Sora no Aosa wo Shiru Hito yo (Her Blue Sky)

Aoi Aioi, a high school student, lives with her elder sister, Akane. Their parents died in a tragic accident 13 years ago. When she graduates from high school, Aoi aspires to go to Tokyo to alleviate her sister’s stress and seek a musical career. This is because when she was younger, both she and Akane lost their father to cancer and mother died due to an unfortunate car accident – leaving them alone at 17 year old.

\She is also influenced by Akane’s former boyfriend Shinnosuke Shino Kanamuro; who relocated back home after his parental death but only returned for short visits every so often. It seems like it will only be a matter of time before he completely leaves them for good.

Sora no Aosa wo Shiru Hito yo (Her Blue Sky)

Aoi had been playing her bass at the guest house, when suddenly she was startled by a man who looked exactly like the man from 13 years ago – the only difference being his age. The current Shinno came back to town after so many years had passed, but he was nothing like his former self. It turns out that there were two of him! Sora no Aosa wo Shiru Hito yo followed these four people as they confronted their inner feelings for each other and made decisions about what would happen next.

I Want to Eat Your Pancreas

The protagonist is an outsider living in a world unfamiliar to himself. Out of his whole existence, he feels empty and lost. Every day brings new challenges, but all he can do is watch the other people around him make progress. One day, he finds a hidden handwritten book- Living with Dying- and realizes who wrote it after reading its title page: Sakura Yamauchi’s best friend Sakura Yamauchi.

With her diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, she wanted to record each day so that she would never forget who she was or what mattered most to her – so that no matter what happened next, there would always be someone who knew everything about her life. But instead of feeling sympathy for her situation, our protagonist only thinks back to how much pain she made him suffer during their childhood together as rivals in love.

I Want to Eat Your Pancreas

As an inevitable attraction between the opposite ends of a spectrum, one can only watch as they grow closer together; entwined by their actions and reactions to one another every day. One would think they are unpredictable or indifferent, but in reality they are simply raw human beings trying to understand this world we live in. And through all the upsets and drama that come from living with someone else, it’s easy to see why we sometimes open up our hearts – because we learn what it means to actually live.

    Tales of a Street Corner

This short anime movie has a very rustic art style and practically no dialogue. A silent film, if you will. But the strokes, fluidity, and use of music and the soundtrack are very close to the Words Bubble Like Soda Pop. A girl and her bear doll reside on a street corner, together with a naughty mouse named Kanku-Boya, a sycamore tree, an antique street lamp, a moth – all wanting to live through this cruel world but never being allowed to do so.

    Tales of a Street Corner

Will the people living on this street corner be able to maintain their peace-filled lives in Aru Machi Kado no Monogatari, or will violence and abuse force them down onto their knees? Well, anime fans, you’ve seen 15 anime teen romance movies like Words Bubble Like Soda Pop. But there are so many looking up above and so many anime greats out there.
