Ranveer Singh’s much awaited sport drama, 83, has proved to be disappointment of epic proportions as the film has recorded a drop of 40% on Monday as compared to Friday. The mega budget film has fallen to single digits on its fourth day and this is a clear sign of rejection from the audience.
Ranveer Singh’s much anticipated sports drama, 83, has been an epic let down as it only made 40% of what it made on Friday on Monday. If anything this is a clear sign that the audience does not want to see this movie when there are so many other options available.
The business of 83 was largely unimpressive, yet Friday provided hope for a new rebound on Monday. However, at 35% down from the previous day’s figures – it was clear to see that this film would not be profitable. Talks started up about business being negatively impacted by Omicron; however, there were rumors that audiences weren’t interested in Kabir Khan’s sports biopic Spiderman or Pushpa who had done so well previously. Word-of-mouth wasn’t good either because public opinion of the movie ranged somewhere between documentary and drama rather than an actual storyline/film.
All in all, 83 is a major disappointment for the industry which caused some people to be upset and disturbed when they saw these figures.
