The Vivek Agnihotri directed film, The Kashmir Files which had been released a few days ago has proved to be unstoppable for audiences so far. Earning about Rs. 3.55 crores on its opening day, the business of the film grew exponentially from then onwards with each passing day. It now stands at over Rs 9 crore after two weekends – proving itself as one of the most popular choices in cinemas since its release date last week.
Based on reports, it appears as if The Kashmir Files earned Rs. 70. 15 crore in its second week of release alone. Going by reviews, this just so happens to be the highest grossing film for the year of 2022 thus far. For example, there was Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt; it only made Rs. 10 .08 crores during the same time frame with very little reviews saying anything about how good it is (Badhaai Doon) which also came out then but made only 2 crores; Jhund starring Amitabh Bachchan did even worse with only 1 .60 crores during the same two weeks . However, it looks like despite a new competitor -Bachchhan Paandey being released last Friday- they aren’t likely going to see any decrease in revenue either given current estimations predicting another record breaking opening week for them!
