Now this is what you call an absolutely incredible run! To make over ten crores on weekdays in the first two weeks is great. But for The Kashmir Files, which has only been released for 11 days total so far, to have earned more than twenty-five crore rupees at last count – it’s absolutely phenomenal! On Tuesday alone, the film earned 10.25 Crores Rupees!
It’s only been 12 days since its release date; but we’re already nearing 40 Crores Rupees worth of earnings! And even though it doesn’t seem like a commercial type of film – because who would think that ‘Bachcha Paandaey’ or ‘Agnihotri Waala Khaana’ would do well? But still every single commercial break and radio station advertisement seems to be talking about this superpowered Vivek Agnihotri blockbuster!
Standing at Rs. 190.10 crores, this all-time blockbuster would score a double century before morning comes around. After that point, scoring anything over Rs. 275 crores should be easy enough; but the struggle from here to over Rs. 300 crores will be carefully watched with bated breath. Bachchhan Paandey performed well on Tuesday evening when it gained Rs. 3.50 crores*. At least the decline wasn’t too bad when you compare it against what it earned during Monday evening – which was Rs. 4 crore*. The combined total of 44 lakhs*, however, is still low for such an acclaimed and high budgeted movie; so people are expecting fewer earnings in its last week or so of release than they were before (before being shown).
