1. Belldandy – Oh My Goddess!
Belldandy is the popular protagonist from the Anime, Oh my Goddess! Her name means ‘Norn of the Present’ in Old Norse and she is both a powerful and beautiful young woman with an innocent yet strong personality. After being summoned by Keiichi, who desired for her to be by his side forever, he made Belldandy realize that he wanted nothing more than to continue living – because life was worth living all the time even when it was hard or complicated- because there was still so much out there he would never see if he didn’t try.

2. Enel – One Piece
Enel is seen as a God in Skypiea, so it would only make sense for us to include him on this list. The main antagonist of the Skypiea Arc has been revealed to be the current user of the Goro Goro no Mi fruit- granting him the ability to control, create and transform himself into lightning. With his ultimate goal being Fairy Vearth (or just simply, the moon).

3. Nagi – Kannagi
The main protagonist of this anime is Nagi. She is a god-type being whose duty it is to purify the world of all impurities and evil. After her sacred tree had been cut down, however, she became much weaker and could no longer do so without assistance from others. It is later revealed that she has another side – Kannagi – who seems more solemn yet still helpful about the task at hand.

4. Ryuk – Death Note
Maybe you didn’t think of him as a god, but Ryuk can’t be anything less than one. A Shinigami – literally a god of death, he is the reason for this notebook appearing in reality. With nothing better to do (being bored), he decided to drop this notebook down here where humans live and watch what would happen; namely see if anyone finds it and how they react when they realize its true power.

5. Satan – Blue Exorcist
Well, traditionally Satan is considered the devil, who resides in Gehenna. So I suppose we can add him to our list as well – while he may not be the strongest or most powerful demon out there, he does happen to be one of the only demons that cannot occupy a human host without killing them. But enough about his history for now; let’s take a look at who he happens to be currently involved with.

6. Holo – Spice and Wolf
Holo is a wolf deity who lives in a place called Yois, or the Wilderness. It’s cold and resembles the world we know as Hyperborea. Holo chooses to take human form so she can live among us, though her true form is that of a giant wolf. She travels with Lawrence after Pasloe seems uninterested in what they need from Holo; it is during this time they become close friends.

7. Nanami Momozono – Kamisama Kiss
Nanaami was an average girl until her dad left her without food or shelter. Months later, while trying to save someone from a dog attack, she finds out that this man is Mikage – one of the gods of land. In return for his act of kindness he grants Nanami with one wish – and it isn’t long before she requests the ability to make people happy.

8. Father – Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
To be frank, Father is not a God. He was originally created from the essence of the Eye of God mixed with Hohenheim’s blood. However, after absorbing The Gate, he became more powerful than ever and proclaimed that he now had god-like power. His transformation after absorbing this entity is also known as Father-God Mode.

9. Aqua – KonoSuba
According to legend, Aqua is the goddess of water; however, this origin story doesn’t seem to live up to its expectations. Rumored to be both inattentive and high strung – this goddess spends all her time playing around or bawling over small things. Despite having strong attributes such as being able to heal wounds and raise one’s defense when casting spells – she lacks intelligence and luck, so doesn’t find it important enough for them to put points into those categories.

10. God – Platinum End
Tsugumi Ohba, the same person who wrote Death Note and Bakuman, created Platinum End. It was therefore no surprise that god also appeared in this anime series. In here, the god is selected through a battle royale event among several other gods with lower power levels vying for positions. Once they’ve run out of power, they must hold another battle royale to find an alternate candidate to take over the previous one before giving up their position altogether.

11. Hestia – Danmachi
Hestia, a goddess and leader of the Hestia Familia within the Danmachi anime series, has become one of my favorite characters. As a very energetic and cute girl she has proven herself to be passionate about her feelings, never afraid to show kindness to others. Though she may at first seem naive due to her inexperience with human relationships, it soon becomes apparent that she is wiser than even most humans; Her knowledge extends far beyond what most people would know in this world – giving her insight into things they could never imagine.

12. Apollo – Saint Seiya
In the 2004 Saint Seiya movie Heaven Chapter: Overture, Apollo, one of Athena’s brothers and the god of light, is one of the film’s main antagonists. 14. Veldanava – TenSura
This dragon is the first True Dragon, father of Milim Nava, brother of Veldora Tempest, and the god who created this world we now call TenSura. He has many names – Star King Dragon among them – but he is known primarily as the Creator because he willed everything into existence using his incredible power when no other deity dared to create anything new after there was a great war that had just ended between several gods.

15. Shinigami – Soul Eater
It is laughable to know that Shinigami was created by Shinra from Fire Force…a human created a god. He is called Death, Shinigami or simply, God. Shinigami is the reaper and the headmaster of Death Weapon Meister Academy. He has children named Asura and Professor Stein who are twins respectively. No one knows what he looks like underneath his mask because it always seems to change every time someone asks him about it- but they do know that he isn’t an evil person.

16. Haruhi Suzumiya – The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Haruhi is a fairly normal high school girl who has no idea about the hidden powers that she possesses. She created an organization at school called the ‘SOS Brigade,’ where they investigate supernatural occurrences during their free time and in secret. However, Haruhi does not realize just how much power she holds because of this; for she can shape reality to suit her own whims. In other words, these events happen because it’s what Haruhi wishes for – so in her world, she is effectively a deity.

17. Aizen – Bleach
Aizen had always been planning for these things to happen. He meticulously plotted his actions since the beginning – from when he first secretly invaded Seireitei, up until when he finally took over the Soul King Palace and became a God himself. The only downside is that after this accomplishment, Urahara seals him away for good.

18. Kars – Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures Part 2: Battle Tendency
Kars is what made Jojo’s happen. Why? He created both the stone masks and the vampires. He was born from nothingness, but believed he could become The Perfect Lifeform, which equates to being a god in this world. Outsmarting him took all of our cunning; Joseph turned into something more than just human when faced with Kars’ cruelty.

19. Yukiteru Amano – Future Diary
Despite being a mere human being, Yuki gets involved with Deus Ex Machina’s Battle Royale and has to fight to win. If he won the tournament, he would be given all of the power that comes with it – including becoming an almighty God. However despite winning against Yuno during the 10,000-year timeline they were together, things started going downhill when Yuki fell into an unending spiral of despair and constantly thought about her and the time they spent together while mourning her death.

20. Lain Iwakura – Serial Experiments Lain
Serial Experiments Lain is one of the hardest animes to watch. Its confusing and dark atmosphere makes it difficult for audiences to follow its plot line without struggling. However, this series deserves praise because despite being hard to watch; Serial Experiments Lain is still a masterpiece. The protagonist-Lain-changes from human to goddess as she throws away each layer of her humanity, which leaves audience members intrigued about what she will do next.

In Pokémon, there are common or normal Pokémons, rare Pokémons, mythological Pokémons, and then – there is Arceus. Arceus is considered to be the creator of the Pokemon world with its thousand arms and the first one ever created. He has control over time and is immortal. In legend it’s said that he had existed before even the beginning of this universe.

23. The Winged Dragon of Ra – Yu-Gi-Oh!
Among the three powerful cards: Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and The Winged Dragon of Ra, this one is considered the strongest. This card has been glorified since it was first released because no other card could beat it when it debuted. And on top of that – many people believe that this card is actually a god; its power being able to defeat both Obelisk and Slifer which are also classified as Gods.

24. God – One-Punch Man
I know what you’re thinking and no, I’m not talking about Saitama himself. There’s another character in this manga – God. He hasn’t appeared on the show yet but he will, and when he does, I’m sure it’ll take social media by storm! In this series of events, one thing is for certain: God doesn’t like humans. It has been established that his power can grant or erase abilities and manipulate dimensions; something we find out quite soon after meeting him for the first time.

26. The Truth – Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood
The Truth in FMA Brotherhood is everything: the world, the universe, you, me, God…It is a brutal reality where punishments are meted out. The power of this being can be seen through the law of equivalence; wherein for every action there is an opposite reaction – it cannot be ignored or sidestepped. For those who have been wronged and wish to take revenge, they will be punished just as severely by this merciless force that runs throughout all things.

27. Hades – Saint Seiya
Hades was an antagonist in one of the best anime sagas ever made. As the king of the Underworld, he came back every 242 years to restart his rebellion against Athena and conquer the world. He was among the most powerful beings present throughout this exciting Saint Seiya series and had full control over anything beneath him – even those who were stronger than himself.

28. Yato – Noragami
Also known as Yaboku. Known for being a god of calamities before he became a god of fortune, Yato appears to be just your average handsome young man- only at 6’2 with blue eyes and 170 lbs. Personality wise, while typically kindhearted, at times Yato has been harsh, irresponsible and inconsiderate; never able to stop himself from playing with fire. But every once in awhile- underneath the scruffy demeanor lies someone who deeply cares about others and knows how valuable life is.

29. Deus Ex Machina – Future Diary
If you live in a world of Future Diary, then this guy would be your worst enemy. Deus Ex Machina is the creator of Battle Royale and the god of both time and space. He is all-powerful, so he can do whatever he desires when he desires it. His personality makes him seem cruel to most people; but to him, everything seems like little more than a game.

30. Zeno – Dragon Ball Super
At one point, Goku was so strong that no one could match him in power. It wasn’t until the introduction of Zeno – the Supreme King of all Universes- did anyone make it close enough to compare to him. Even though he only looks like a child and appears innocent most of the time, his wrath can destroy anything in its path including 6 different universes.
