Two movies released this Friday- Heropanti 2 and Runway 34. In fact, it’s great for the film industry because they are targeting entirely different audiences. The first movie is aimed towards lower middle class viewers in rural areas while the second one appeals to high society folk who visit upscale theaters across big cities. This ensures that all kinds of people are happy with what they’re watching, which benefits the entire Film Industry.
Let’s talk about Heropanti 2 first. The film has been made surely during the pandemic and still boasts of big scale treatment, which is rather impressive. There is a lot of action and drama in there with big scale settings and budget – an aspect clearly evident thanks to Sajid Nadiadwala. Yes, it may not be as intense or flashy as Baaghi 3 – the third installment to its series; but for what it lacks in those aspects, thankfully make up for in others.
Nowadays when sequels are often criticized for being unable to live up to its predecessors expectations, you can’t say that for this one. The preview responses are outstanding – leaving people wanting more (which they’ll most likely get). Considering how advanced pre-orders have been so far – they should easily rake Rs 8 crore or higher within opening weekend itself!
On the other hand, Runway 34 -which was earlier titled Mayday- is meant for those who like their dramas to be both intense and complex. Those looking forward to seeing a lot of conversation between Ajay Devgan and Amitabh Bachchan in this interrogation drama based within the aviation industry are sure not to be disappointed; but don’t forget that there will also be plenty of twists that one can expect from this suspenseful action movie.
With Runways 34 being released soon at select theaters across Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru as well, it will no doubt capture audience attention quickly – especially due to its premise. At least when we look at how often movies about airplane disasters or battles at 30 thousand feet tend to do well with worldwide audiences nowadays.
