Indian cinema has largely experienced slow activity as of late, with only three films performing well in the box office out of a dozen or so released this year. But this week’s predictions appear to be changing given Kartik Aaryan – Kiara Advani starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has gained an advance booking rate just one-third behind Satish Kaushik – Kriti Sanon starring Imli Aur Hum, on top slots in 30 cities across India so far.
It is also predicted that it could cross 50% compared to Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s first day show times, but won’t surpass Padmaavat’s all-time record opening day figure. What seems most impressive about the film though is its early audience reception online; rave reviews from both critics and fans alike hinting towards ‘surely’ strong momentum during it next few days stay at cinemas.
Notably, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 being a mass entertainer is likely to yield an increase in footfalls at single screens as well on Day 1. This combined with high rates of spot booking could propel the film into becoming Kartik Aaryan’s highest opening day grosser so far. But though plausible, this depends largely on walk-in audiences and positive word of mouth which would further help create demand for the movie.
