Films such as Thank God and Ram Setu both saw a decrease in business this past Monday, but that was to be expected with the festival season coming to an end. With so many holidays in there, most people who wanted to see them did so already. One would assume that after today we’ll see residuals from those who were either too busy or out of town during this time period.
While Ram Setu had collected 6 crore rupees on Friday, they pulled in 3 more on Monday. Conversely, Thank God only made 1 crore 50 lakhs on Monday – much less than predicted. Again this is what one might expect – these numbers are right where they should be; although it appears Ram Setu will do marginally better than Thank God–especially if you look into specific areas where they haven’t lost every last customer yet.
It is unfortunate that the films cannot perform up to expectations considering the caliber of actors and actresses involved in them. Both films haven’t been doing great at the box office, but only one has performed worse than expected. It was a shame because Ram Setu deserved to make Rs. 100-125 crores while Thank God too had potential to make around Rs. 60-75 crore total; however, they couldn’t achieve those numbers because only one managed to surpass its goal -Ram setu managed an approximate earnings of Rs. 59 crore*, whereas Thank God didn’t even come close and reached about Rs. 30.75 crore*.
